One of the factions that make Fortnite Battle Royale storyline appealing to players is “Live events”, which are special events that are directly related to the storyline. Those events reveal the lore, the on-going details of Fortnite and may involve in changes of the map details. This topic will show you some of the most important live events of Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 1.
Blast-off event
The Blast-off, or the Rocket Launch event was the first live in-game event in Fortnite Battle Royale, happened on June 30th 2018 in Season 4, in which the rocket was launched into the sky, creating a massive crack on the sky, also as known as the Sideway Rift. This key event has led to multiple other events until Season 6. It had been revealed that The Visitor, a core member of The Seven, was most likely the operator of this rocket. We do not know for certain reason why The Visitor launched the Rocket, but we can surely believe that it has a vital role, which was iconic and paved the way for other coming events. After this event, things from the Fortnite Battle Royale map started to disappear and appear, with the famous example of the Durrr Burger.
The cube, Kevin’s Journey, floating island, The Floating Island’s Journey
This series of events occurred in Season 5 and Season 6 is all related to Kevin, the first Cube appeared in the Reality Zero. It all started when lighting shot down from the Rift, which was created in the Blass-off event. The lighting generated a huge, purple cube, later nicknamed Kevin, he was wandering around the map and bounced back any player who made contact with. In addition, Kevin marked 6 runes, before it collapsed to Loot Lake.
Upon reaching the Loot Lake House, Kevin turned into the Floating Island, leaving a vortex at the center of Loot Lake, causing 6 runes turn into corrupted places. Later on the Floating Island consumed energy from 6 corrupted areas to open a portal, spawning Cube Fiends around the map.
The Butterfly Event
This happened in the middle of Season 6 as the major event of that Season. As the Cube struggled to defend itself, it began to lose energy, and a purple tear began to drip into a whirlpool in Loot Lake. The energy cube finally ran out after a day of leaks. After that, the Cube began to spin and released a terrifying white light. A blinding white light flooded the screens of every player as the white turned gray and the cube shattered. All of them were transported to The In-Between. Then a giant rift in the shape of a butterfly started to form, shrink while moving to players. As soon as players touched the butterfly with the finger, the players were brought back to the island after a flash appeared.
The Ice Storm
Happened in the middle of Season 7, the Ice Storm event was the major event of that Season. The Ice King, the ruler of The Ice Kingdom and the leader of the Elemental Kings, was behind this event. He casted a spell in an ice sphere over Polar Peak for 3 days, causing the entire map covered in snow. There are also Ice Fiends appearing all over the map, giving players the Ice Storm Challenges to conquer.
The Unvaulting
Also known as the Nexus Event, The Unvaulting is like its name, the vault opened, allowed players to jump into it and choose an item among 6 options. Gamers opted for the Drum Gun’s revival, and it swiftly made its return. Following the unvaulting of the Drum Gun, players were promptly transported back to the island. During this event, the sky turned and stayed dark until the end of the season.
The final Showdown
This Season 9 main event was assumed to be the Monster and Mecha fight. Between The Block and Lazy Lagoon on the Battle Royale map, The Monster first appeared. The Ice King’s castle was also depicted sitting atop him. The Monster then attempted to open the vault in order to remove the inner Zero Point, while Mecha appeared at Pressure Plant. Those 2 fought each other forcefully, Mecha lost an arm for the Monster but finally manage to kill it with the sword of Statue of Singularity. The event ended with the victory of Mecha, he then flied away into the space, currently we have no information on where he is. Following The Ultimate Confrontation, the Zero Point lay bare and fractured, initiating a swift process of destabilization over the course of the remaining days in Season 9, ultimately culminating in a partial implosion.
The End
Considered as the grand finale of Chapter 1, The End happened at the end of Season X. The Seven launched several rockets, flying around the island before all going into one rift close to the meteor. The rockets went to the front to make a rift for the rockets to loop through when the second rift emerged towards the back of the meteor. The fissure widens as the rockets speed up and loop around the meteor, drawing it inside of the hole. With a laser beam aimed at the sphere from the final fissure, which suddenly materialized on top of Loot Lake, the sphere is further shaken. The rockets leave the island as the meteor heads straight towards the Zero Point. Entering the game at any point after the event caused a cutscene to depict the Zero Point’s explosion, destroying the lobby and sucking it into a black hole.
